Nyerere National Park, formerly known as the Selous Game Reserve, is a vast and diverse wildlife reserve located in the southern region of Tanzania. Covering approximately 30,000 square kilometers, it is one of the largest protected areas in Africa and was named in honor of Tanzania’s first President, Julius Nyerere. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to its wildlife diversity and undisturbed nature.
